Want advice on fun activities to do when travelling to india in october?

Hey - i'm going on holidays to India at the end of October for two weeks. We're backpacking and we're going to Delhi, Dharamsala, Agra, Jaipur, Mumbai and Goa. Does anyone have suggestions of must do things in these locations (asside from the standard visit taj mahal etc) or anything a bit out of the ordinary?
Does anyone have any other useful travel tips for india? Especially as its just me and my friend (both blonde females) a bit worred about being harrassed!

Hi,

Delhi is the capital of India, so you can definitely find many tourists destination over there. You should visit all the historical places of Delhi and try to explore the food taste of this city. Delhi is famous for it varity of taste available. There are places like "Chat Bazar", " Chandani Chowk", "Paratha Gali" and many more where you can find dishes from all around the world, but you should go for Indian tasty one.

Dharamshala: Dharamshala is a hilly area, so in the end of October you will find little bit cold over there. If you are lucky than you can also get some snow fall. Enjoy the nature walk in sight seen in this place as adventure activity like trekking will not be possible at that time.

Agra: Agra is also a beautiful place to visit. You can go for world famous "Taj Mahal" and Historical building " Agra Fort".

Jaipur: Jaipur is also known as the "pink city". It is the capital of Rajasthan. Here you can visit Historical places like "Amber Fort", "Jaigarh", "Nargarh", "Jantar Mantar" and many more historical places. You can also enjoy different variety of food in this city. You should try "Biking Trip" to explore the in and out of this city as well as near by places of this city like "pushkar". Hot air ballooning is also one more option available in this city. You can also enjoy the "camel safari" adventure in Pushkar.

Mumbai: This is a dream city to visit. You can enjoy many tourist destination here like " Juhu Chopati", " Haji Ali", "Sidhi Vinayak" many beaches, clubs, night parties, film city, bollywood and many more things. This city is the economical hub of India and one of he best place to visit in India.

Goa: Goa is world famous for its beaches. Thousands of tourists come to this place to enjoy the beach activities as well as world class water sports activities. October is the best time to visit this place.

Delhi --must see all the places like Kutub miner,Delhi fort (light and sound programme on Indian History on Mugal period ) ,and other places

Dharamsala --you must enjoy the Toy train journey from Pathankot to Dharam sala .Come pathankot by train from Delhi and catch the toy train for Jogindernagar and get down at Dharamsala(4000ft) .while in toy train ,enjoy the zig zag journey from a good hight passing through oldest tea garden in India at Palanpur .I advise to get down at palanpur and trek to Dharamsala (always carry one local guide whereever you visit--it is available in any tourist spots ) .At Dharamsala ,visit Tibetian Gov in exsile where Dalai Lama can be met at Macleodganj

Agra--Tajmahal.Jaipur --fort,Hawa mahal,Mumbai--Marina beach,Elephanta cave (1 hour steamer journey on Arabian Sea ),national Park at Borivly(see kanheri cave ) ,and finally at Goa
I think people visit goa to see only temple ,sea beach ,church ,good food ,fenny but real Goa lies in wild life ,There are 4 to 5 wild life sanctuaries which I am sure if you spend a night will never be forgotten
