Answer :
Ma passion, c'est voyager. J'adore voyager autour du monde et explorer les différentes cultures. J'ai voyagé dans des pays du Moyen-Orient comme l'Inde et le Pakistan, qui sont riches en cultures et en valeurs. Voyager me complete.

Hope this helps! It took me a while to figure out all the accents. I'm not sure if your keyboard works the same way mine does, but if so, this is how I got them:

Alt 130 = é
Alt 133 = à
Alt 135 = ç
Alt 136 = ê
Alt 138 = è
Alt 140 = î

Just hold down the Alt key and type the number and it will show up.

Question about visiting India?

me and my friend are planning to visit Taj Mahal and some other places in india. and i want to know if its safe for me and my friend to visit. i am 20 and my friend is 21 and is it safe if we walk around the city and go shopping together?

Answer :
When i visit a place any where in Europe the question whether it is Safe or not lingers there too !! Please remember that Agra is as safe or not as YOU make IT. As a veteran traveler i learnt long time back ....a) not to show my money. b) avoid eye contact. c) avoid alleys after Dark. d) Move in group . e) always ask questions from shop keepers or COUPLES ( with a women in it ) f) cover your *** by leaving behind any excess money and passports in the hotel .

Now coming to your question. YES visiting Agra is safe.

If you are making it a DAY -visit. You may take a train " TAJ EXPRESS" from DELHI rly st. The train starts early morning at around 7 ( plz chk the time ) and reaches around 10 in the morning .You can go straight to TAJ and then see the old city around it. IF you take a guide ask for his licsence. Visiting Agra could be fun . After seeing the old agra city , if you wish you can go and spend some time at Fatehpur sikri . take a cab if you are coming back the same evening , since the train leaves at 7 pm ( plz chk th time) and reaches Delhi at 10 pm .Going to Fateh pur Sikri you may be surrounded haggled/ troubled by the guides etc. Hence best way out is either make a friend amongst other INDIAN families that are visiting the place ( It takes a smile to do so ). OR AVOID it totally.. if its a day visit , since there is soooo much that one can do in Agra itself.

Have fun and Enjoy TAJ

Answer :
Like everything about India, the answer is a bit complex.

Violent crime against tourists is very rare, so no need to worry too much about that.

Petty crime, scams, and other stealth rip-offs are a different story. Particularly if you have a deer-in-the-headlights look about you, then you'll be fresh meat for an impressive array of con-men who are impressive at separating you from your money. Keep your money in a moneybelt next to your skin; don't flash big wads of cash, and don't trust strangers who approach you on the street.

The Taj Mahal is stupendous, but Agra (where the Taj is located) is a den of slimeball con-artists. Jaipur also has lots of creative con-artists. Again, don't trust anyone on the street and keep your valuables well protected.

The biggest safety issue is not so much crime, but is wildly chaotic traffic and dangerous drivers. Be careful crossing every street, and don't hesitate to tell your driver something like "if I have to tell you twice to slow down, then you won't get a tip."

No need to be paranoid...but be aware and be vigilant.

BTW - if you are trying to decide what places to visit, http://www.fatpassport.com may be of help.

Have a great trip!

Anyone been to India for a holiday? How would you rate it?

I'm thinking of going to India in July, I know it's going to be boiling hot, but thats the time of year I'm able to go. I was just wondering how you would rate India as a tourist destination? I'm planning to stay in Delhi and of course visit the Taj Mahal. Any other tourist attraction recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Answer :
Not a very tourist friendly destination, but slowly getting there
based on number of days you are staying in India, and your interests - you will have a wide variety of choices
Beaches - Goa and Gokarn in Karnataka state - these are on the western coast of India
Monuments like forts and palaces you need to go to Rajastan (deserts, but huge forts)
Hilly ghats - Maharastra state, with Ajanta and Elllora Buddist caves - Awesome architecture
Ancient temples - Madya pradesh and orissa - the famous sun temples and khajuraho temples
Back weters of kerala - boat rides and healing oil massages and tea and coffee estates in munnar
Hill stations - Himachal pradesh, uttar pradesh
Food - Lucknow and Hyderabad - basically food is great every where you go, but tends to be spicer as you go south
Temples - tamil nadu
Clothes - bengal, andra pradesh and tamil nadu - Cotton and silk
Trekking - in Sikkim - virginal trekking tracks and forests - the best in the world
Tea estates - northern bengal - darjelling, merek and other places

Answer :
There are varieties of options available in India. There mountains/ sea/ desert. You name it.
If you think its going to be boiling hot during that time, why don't you try Manali as well. Its not close. But close enough. The views of Himalayas will mesmerize you. I am a Bangladeshi but been to few hill stations of India. You will love it. I shall rate it A1.

Answer :

Backpacking throughout Asia - Where to go?

I am currently working in the Philippines and before returning home (the USA), I'd like to take a month or so to do a little backpacking. I am not sure when I will be done working exactly, and would like to be home before the holidays (Thanksgiving), so I doubt I will have much more than a month - 2 max.

I would really like to see India, but I don't know what I'd want to do there. The Taj Mahal and seeing some local markets. Actually, since being in the Philippines, I've grown to love the market setting. But as for the rich Asian history, I really don't get into it (any history for that matter). Thinking of this, I am not sure if heading north is my best bet, even though it was my original thought.

I am a beach bum, but don't want to spend the backpacking trip on the beach. Doing some hiking and some local markets is really all I can think of that won't be an overkill for me - and maybe if time allots, throw in a few days at the beach.

I have also thought of hitting some beaches on the way to Australia and then hitting New Zealand. However, I am not sure if I will have the time for this.

I really don't want to be rushed anywhere, I would like a relaxing trip, seeing as many places as I can. Oh, and cheap is always a bonus.

Any ideas or suggestions of places to stop by or a rough plan?

Answer :
Well you have to decide which of 3 categories you are in

1. Independent travellers (who just like to travel by themselves, but are not into the backpacker scene)
2. Backpackers (who like the idea of travelling around to all the back packer haunts)
3. Real backpackers (who travel with a tent and go to places where the main attraction is that few other people have gone there before).

For a backpacker your best bet would be the backpacker trail, from Hong Kong, into China via Guangzhou, Guilin, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang. This is a popular party scene for backpackers, but the problem is couldn't go on to TIbet and Nepal easily at that time of the year (it would be a little cold).

So you might head south into Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and so on.

Or you might do the reverse and start in Thailand and head up north into China and back to Hong Kong where you can fly back to the US without too much problem (or from Beijing or Shanghai).

If you have more money you can do india and then head back through Thailand and vietnam, but you would be flyi

Hi Kris, if you plan to explore the natural beauty and diversity of local culture, you should try to visit Indonesia. there so many beautiful beaches and mountains.

There is also no great cost to travel, I've traveled to the island of Java karimun in the middle for 3 days 2 nights and it was all just need $ 150, I plan to lombok island later in August. My friend just found a new island and no one has lived there, very interesting. message me if you interested in.

Or if you need other references about the adventures in Indonesia try to visit my blog. http://amazingindonesia.net/
