What interesting places are there to visit in india?

besides taj mahal.

Answer :
India is HUGE and has tons of fascinating places to visit. However, it's best to plan your trip according to the seasons. I was in India in the summertime so it's good to escape the heat and go up north. Ladakh is very beautiful, has high altitude landscape and Buddhist and Kashmiri Culture. If you are interested in Tibetan Buddhist culture the place to be is Macloud Gange above Dharamsallah. Parvati Valley is very scenic and relaxed. The most fascinating Hindi cultural sites I've experienced were Varanassi and Rishikesh. There is the beautiful golden temple of the Sikhs in Amritzar and I;ve heard wonderful things about a lot of other places as well. There are really endless places to visit. Try the lonely planet website for ideas. If you land in New Dheli be warned: it isn't the most pleasant city, but don't jump to conclusions about all of India because of it! Just be prepared to venture outside the city to fully appreciate the country. It has fascinating cultures and breathtaking landscapes (particularly in the far north). Enjoy!

Answer :
if ur an animal lover than visit 'the jim corbett park', ranthambore park, bharatpur sanctuary, kannah national park etc. for monuments- you must see the Qutab minar in the capital ( new delhi) , humayun's tomb and many more.
its best to buy a Travel book about india so the you can visit places you like and want to to see eg. monuments, national park, mountain, beaches, deserts, wet forest ( east india), religious spots, river sides etc.
since the country is huge and its history is very old there's alot to see in the country!!
so best of luck!!
